2 miles and 8 days...

Let me start by saying only 8 days until we find out if we are having a boy or girl!

So the ladies in my FLOCK at church have started to walk on Monday nights, which is our normal Bible Study day however I think we are taking a break for a while. Anyways, last week we walked about a mile and a half so then this week we went to Lake Hefner and walked about two miles! Let me just tell you that I feel it too. My feet and legs and rear are all feeling it. :) But last week after walking the mile and a half I decided that I need to work out at least twice a week. So Monday's and Wednesday's are now the official work out days. Of course I don't want to over due it, so I will be careful as to how much I do. I have heard though that if you work out while pregnant it helps the delivery go easier! I am all about that!!!

Kicking or not kicking...

So with in the next few weeks I am supposed to be able to feel the baby kicking. I have had a few times where I thought that just maybe, but I wasn't for sure so I was saying I hadn't felt the baby kick yet. However, I am pretty sure that last night I felt the baby's sweet little feet or hands moving around and kicking or punching me! I don't know how to describe it and I am still not 100% sure that is what it was. I can't wait though until Justin can feel the baby kick on the outside! That will be so neat. I did read today that if you are thinner you will feel the baby kick earlier than overweight people. So that made me feel a little better knowing that it wasn't that I was behind I am just overweight. I have so many friends who are pregnant right now and I know for sure one of them, who is only 2 weeks ahead of me, already felt the baby kick like 2-3 weeks ago. So I will just continue to be patient and hope that what I felt last night was the kick!

Week 17 (and a half)

(taken from www.parenting.com)

From crown to rump, your baby measures about 4 1/2 inches, roughly the size of an open palm. He weighs about 3 1/2 ounces, but not for long, as fat is starting to fill out his body and keep him warm. By the time he's born, fat will account for two-thirds of his body weight. He has eyelashes now, although he's months away from being able to bat them.

monthly doctor's appointment

Well we had our monthly check up today!  We got to hear the heart beat loud and clear!  It was 140 bpm.  So for all of you who picked a girl based on the original hearing of the heart beat at 160 might want to think again!  But we will know for sure in 16 days!  The baby is a little mover though and would move around about 5 seconds after the doctor found the heart beat!  Then we would have to search again to hear it again.

The name game...

Well Justin and I finally agreed upon a boy name!  I just hope we don't end up having another boy down the road (I say that but I would be ok with it), because I felt like we put so many names out on the table.  I mean seriously we had the girls name picked out before we were pregnant!

By the way if you are wondering what the names are, well you will have to wait.  For now we are still going to refer to him/her as little one ;)

Awe, freebies!

So I have to say that through out my entire adult life God has provided me with free furniture to fill what ever living space I have.  From plates to tables to couches!  So just recently God did it again and provided some more freebies for me and Justin!  A leather couch that has actually been passed down from my grandparents to my sister to me.  It is super comfy and nice for when it is hot in the house!  Plus, we also got a leather recliner for the baby's room!  This too was passed down from my grandparents to my parents to me!  I haven't had a chance to really use it as it is in the future baby's room, which is filled with everything we don't have a place for right now.  And last but not least we got a bigger TV!  This was given to us by my parents who recently got an even bigger one for themselves.    It has been great because it feels like we got to go on a free shopping spree!

Oh my goodness, I can't beleive that we will find out the sex of the baby soon!  I really will be excited either way.   You know people keep asking us what we want to have and I really just want to know what we are having more than anything!  May 7th hear we come!!!

not much to say

So this week has been very different from my usual weeks.  You see I went to a funeral.  It wasn't just any funeral, it was that of my friends baby.  She lost her baby 2 weeks before her due date.  I don't know why this kind of thing happens.  It was probably the sadest funeral I have ever been to. It was awesome though to see so many people there who love and will support my friend.

Also, this week I have been feeling sick again.  Today I have been ok, but earlier this week my stomach has just been horrible.  Last night Justin and I were going to go to Wal-Mart but I just couldn't go, so my wonderful husband went by himself and got all of our groceries, plus some rocky road ice cream for me!  I really felt good after some rocky road!

I have also started back to work after a breif hold.  I have to be honest, I really don't know if this will work out.  They are so very unorganized and the office manager (my former office manager from AccuHealth) is working hard at getting it organized, but I am afraid she is going to need someone in the office to help rather than a work from home person.  But I guess we will play it by ear and see what they think.

Ok, well that is about all.  I think little one is growing, but since I am overweight it is harder for people to notice.  But I can tell, especially when my jeans don't fit!

15 weeks!

Your baby weighs about 1 3/4 ounces and measures between 4 1/2 inches from crown to rump. Fine, downy hair (called lanugo, which he'll shed before birth, grows on his body. Hair is sprouting on top of his head, too, although whatever color it is may change. His eyebrows have begun to fill in. Your baby hiccups, but he can't yet make a sound because his trachea is still filled with fluid, not air. The intestinal tract continues to develop.

Oh I can't beleive I haven't mentioned that our ultra sound is scheduled for May 7th!  I can't wait. Plus Justin's parents will be here and get to go with us!!  It will be so neat to be able to have them there, especially since they won't get to be here on the day of the birth.
