God's wonderful timing...

Well Justin and I made a big decision this week! I gave my two weeks notice yesterday at work. On Wednesday night when we were discussing it, I told Justin that I was kind of scared, but we both felt like it was time. It is amazing though how God works things. We had previously thought that if I could find something to do from home that would be best and then I would give my notice, well God had other plans. Yesterday after I had turned in my notice, most of us in the office went and had lunch with our old boss Billy. I told him that I had given my notice to stay at home. He then asked if I would be interested in doing collections from home for his new employer! I told him YES! So he called me back yesterday afternoon and said he talked with them and they are for sure interested and when my two weeks is over we will get in touch about it!!! Here I thought I needed to have a job before I quit, but God new that I needed to quit in order to be asked about this job. I am so amazed at His timing!

9 weeks!

The embryo may now officially be called a fetus, which literally means "little one" -- and he's about the size of a strawberry. An inch long, he has hands that can flex at the wrist, and he's able to fold them over his heart. Eyelids cover his eyes, and his ears are beginning to take shape on the sides of his head. His genitals are forming, but your doctor won't yet be able to discern his sex by sonogram. Give it a few more months; an ultrasound performed in the second trimester should tell you -- if you want to know ahead of time, that is.

(I love that fetus means "little one" I think I will start refering to our baby as little one!)

What a week...

So this week I mentioned the pain I was in.  At first I thought it was just because of being pregnant, well it got so bad on Wednesday that I called my doctor to see what to do.  She suggested, at first, to take Tylenol and a pepcid (that was just in case it was gas).  Well I was still in pain so I called back in the afternoon and they had me come in to the office to get checked out.  It turned out I had kidney stones!  How crazy is that.  I have to say I was a little relieved that I was not going to be in such bad pain for the rest of the 9 months!  But with that said she sent me to the ER because it was to late in the day to get an ultrasound (to confirm the kidney stones) anywhere else.  So Justin met me at the house and we headed to the ER and spent most of the night in the waiting room just to be taken back and told that I had already passed them and I could go home!  AGH!  But with me being pregnant I figure it is better safe than sorry.  My OBGYN said that they might have to put me on IV to help flush it out, so needless to say I was actually glad they told me to go home.  So that is my week in a nut shell.  I got to take off the last two days of work to rest, which was much needed.  Although I felt bad leaving my office short handed, but this was doctor's orders.

I am in so much pain today. My stomach is hurting plus I am having a cramp in my left thigh. Plus there is only 3 of us at work today, so I would feel horible if I went home.

The good news is that my blood work that they took last week (like 5 or 6 tubes worth) came back all good!

Happy Presidents Day...

I have such a wonderful husband! I have to brag. :) He has today off because of President's day, so he brought me lunch and ate lunch with me then walked with me for 10 minutes. How sweet is he?

So I am feeling a little sick to my stomach today. Unfortunatly the McDonald's didn't set with me or the baby :) I felt this way yesterday too. They (and by "they" I mean all the authors of pregnancy books and articles on line) say that it should start to pass around week 12. I sure hope so! Plus I am sooooo tire. My sister told me once that pregnancy tired is way different then non pregnancy tired. Well at first I thought "I have had my share of tired days, so trust me I know what tired is." Ok, I take that back. This is beyond any tiredness I have ever known!

week 8...

Fetal development in pregnancy week 8:Woohoo!  You've got one whole inch of baby inside of you! Your little embryo has finally reached the one-inch mark (30mm). And if it were possible to take a peek, you could actually see your tiny baby without a telescope! What’s more, your baby is finally starting to take on some very distinct human features. For starters, their little tail (really just the spinal cord) has disappeared completely. It’s nice to know your baby can no longer be mistaken for a sea creature! Additionally, both their toes and fingers are prominent with very little, if any, webbing. Upper and lower limbs all show recognizable joints (elbows and knees) and the lower limb bones are starting to ossify. But don’t expect your baby to resemble either parent quite yet. Right now, your baby’s head is disproportionately larger than the rest of their body--making up almost half of your little one’s height and weight!

Valintine's Day

I have such an amazing husband! I got home last night and he had dinner ready, I mean he was putting it on the plates and everything! He means so much to me. I am so glad that God brought us together. Despite my constant neediness, he still loves me! He is so wonderful!!!!!

Week 7...

Fetal development in pregnancy week 7:  Your baby is really beginning to develop more physical definition this week – their oversized head isn’t just large and oblong anymore, it’s actually a little bit pointy. The tiny receding tail bud is now starting to be overshadowed by the growth of their legs, which are now complete with knees and the beginnings of toes. Their eyes and ears are the most visible features on their head and their miniature bones are starting to harden throughout their body. You also have some variation on a boy or a girl at this point, although their genitals won’t be visible enough to determine which color cigars you’re going to buy until around the 16th week.

weight gain

Ok, so I have already gianed 2 pounds in the last 2 1/2 weeks. It is not becuase I am eating for two, it is because I haven't worked out and I haven't been tracking my points. Sometimes I just don't feel good enough to do it or I am just tired. Please pray that I will continue to work out and eat right so I don't gain a whole bunch of weight. My doctor said I should only gain 10-15 pounds! The low amount is because I am already overweight.

first ultra sound...

So we had our first ultra sound today!  It was pretty cool.  We were able to see the heart beating!  Hopefully we will be able to hear it beating in about 4 weeks!  Even though our baby is about the size of an m&m, it was still pretty awesome.  The only thing that bothered me is that the ultra sound tech kept refering to our baby as "the embryo".  I kept thinking, just call it baby!  I know for all of you technical people out there you are saying, "but it is an embryo".  I just like to think of he/she as our baby.  Here are the pictures from our ultra sound.

Week 6...

Fetal development in pregnancy week 6:This is going to be a busy week for your amazing little embryo. Their brain is still growing remarkably fast; miniature hand plates are starting to develop and the early formations of what will be their fingers are already visible. Also, the lower limbs do not develop quite as fast, so they’re pretty much still flippers. Up until this point, your baby has been very curled up with the head and tail in close proximity, but this week their trunk and neck are beginning to grow and straighten as their tail recedes into its resting position in the back. Even though your little miracle is only 6 weeks old, they’re already capable of demonstrating reflex responses to touch!

Friday, February 1, 2008

Ok, so I had a follow up appointment today and everything was ok! I go back on Wednesday the 6th to have our first ultra sound! She said we should be able to see the heart beating! What a neat blessing God has given to us! I think I should be able to scan the ultra sound picture and post it on the blog. By I, I really mean Justin :)
