Maternity clothes

So I bought my first maternity shirt this weekend! Not so much because of the pregnancy showing or anything but because before I was pregnant I had lost a lot of weight and really didn't have very many clothes to wear then, so I can't just go out and get regular shirts since I will need the maternity shirts soon, so we just bought a marternity shirt. It was kind of fun trying it on, I put on the belly that they have at the Motherhood Maternity store. Plus since it was my first time shopping there they gave me a goody bag with a bottle and diaper rash lotion samples and lots of booklets of info! It was lots of fun.

One down two to go! (from parenting.com)

(I am now in the second trimester!!  I forgot to mention that the baby's heartbeat is 160 bpm!)

Make a fist--that's how big your baby is now. At week 14, he weighs close to an ounce and measures between three and four inches from top to bottom. Like you, he can make a fist, too, with fingers that have a unique set of prints; an epidermal layer in his skin shows genetically determined ridges on the tips and palms. Keep drinking those glasses of skim milk, because in the next eight weeks the bones throughout his body will harden as calcium gets deposited. Your son's neck is now getting longer too, which means his chin doesn't have to rest on his chest anymore.

week 13 (taken from www.parenting.com)

As the second trimester begins, your baby is growing quickly. She weighs about three-quarters of an ounce and measures between 2 1/2 to 3 inches from the top of her head to her bottom. She's in her fetal period, when the organs and tissues that took shape in the first trimester start to develop. Her intestines, originally part of the umbilical cord, have found a new home in her abdominal cavity. Her tongue and vocal chords are also getting ready for their debut at birth, and her eyes are moving closer together. Her ears are in place, and her head is roughly half the size of her whole body. (By birth, her head will be one-fourth the size of her body.)

I have to brag...

My husband has to win the award for being the best husband in the world!  He has been so good throughout all of this pregnancy stuff.  He is constantly telling me to rest and then he gets up and does the dishes and laundry.  Then he does it when I don't even know he is doing it.  He does yard work too!  Sorry ladies he is all mine!!!  I had a scrapbooking party the other day and he basically cleaned the house for it.  How good is he?  Well there are no words that can explain how much I love and respect him.  Did I mention he brings me breakfast in bed when I am too weak to get up and eat?  He is so wonderful.  Thank you God for my husband, Justin.  And thanks to his family who instilled in him great family values!  And most of all, Thank you Justin for being my help during these days of great fatigue.

This past week was the worst week that I have had yet.  Starting Sunday night I just did not feel good.  I could barely even bring crackers to my mouth, but was finally able to get about 2 1/2 down.  Well then I stayed at home on Monday because I was feeling horrible.  By Monday night the only thing that sounded good was chicken nuggets from McDonald's!  Seriously, it was the only thing that didn't make me gag.  So Justin brought me a 10 piece home on his way home from work.  I was thinking I wouldn't be able to eat all of it, well after not eating most of the day I ate them all and had him bring me more after his Bible study!  But by Wednesday I was unable to eat the nuggets any more.  But was slowly starting to feel better.  Justin came home from work to care for me on Wednesday (he really is the best).  By Thursday I was feeling better, but after a full day I was pooped.  Saturday again I had stomach issues, I guess little one doesn't like Burger King.  Oh did I mention that we bought a mini-van?  It is great!  A 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan.  Now we are really the coolest people on the block!

Week 12 (taken from www.parenting.com)

You're reaching an important milestone--the end of the first trimester. Your baby now weighs about half an ounce and is about 2 1/2 inches long from top to bottom. He can open his mouth and wiggle his fingers and toes, upon which tiny nails have begun to grow. Brain development is in high gear, as fetal nerve cells multiply rapidly and synapses start firing.

11 weeks...(taken from www.parenting.com)

Your little one is roughly the size of a thumb this week, but he can swallow and kick, and his fingernails have started to grow. His head is so big it takes up almost half the length of his body, and a clear outline of his spine is visible. If you have an appointment with your doctor or midwife this week, she'll be able to pick up the speedy swoosh of a heartbeat with the help of a special stethoscope called a Doppler. Experts say hearing a heartbeat at this point is a major sign that the pregnancy is progressing as it should.

By the way we will get to hear the heart beat on March 21st!  I can't wait!

overcoming evil with good...(not pregnancy related)

I was reminded today by a dear friend of mine, after complaining to her about the awful people that have taken over my soon to be old office, that I may be the only example of Jesus to these people. WOW what an eye opener. This is something that I know to be true, but to be honest I put it in the back of my mind and decided that since I was pregnant it was ok to be in a bad mood and not like the new people. But the truth comes down to what she said, I may be the ONLY example of Christ. The only! What if God put me here in this office for the amount of time that I have left so I could be a witness to them? An example of how a christian lives there life? I have totally blown it. I just pray that over the next 3 1/2 days that I am here I can be positive and show them love like no other. And if they get to me, I just need to remember Romans 12:19-21 19 "Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay,"says the Lord. 20 On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." :)

Week 10...

This was taken from http://www.parenting.com/:

This week, your baby measures about 1 1/2 inches from top to bottom--about as big as a cocktail shrimp and similar in shape. Tooth buds are forming, bones are growing, and hair is starting to sprout. Her eyelids are fused shut and will remain closed until week 27, but she can hear you now since the inner workings of the ear are complete. Neurons appear at one end of the spinal cord, and the basic divisions of the brain are present. She can also bend her arms at the elbows and has distinct fingers. Genitals continue to form, but your doctor would not be able to determine the sex yet, even by sonogram.
