Do you really trust God? I mean enough to say I won't complain for a whole entire day about what happens?
Well I am not there yet. I wish I could say that I was. What a huge stress relief that would be, not having to worry about anything! I realized this morning that one thing I can trust God with (well I CAN trust him with everything, but you get my point, right?) is the amount of sleep I get. This morning I woke up and did my Bible study and as I was praying both the boys woke up. At first I was going to let words of complaint leave my mouth, but then it hit me...He knows! God knows how much sleep I need and He knows that right at that very moment I was going to be good to go. So I just went and got them out of their rooms and continued on with my day. I tried to not even complain about it to my friend Misti and I didn't complain about it on facebook!
Of course nap time came and I took a nap while the boys did, only to be woken up again with Owen crying horribly. I find it interesting just how quickly we forget the things we learn. I am just like one of the Israelites coming out of Egypt with Moses. How quickly they forgot that God parted the red sea. Well I very quickly poured me a bowl of cereal and relied on that instead of God to get me through this time of being tired. Man, my golden calf may look different but it sure serves the same purpose.
I think my prayer for this week will be to truly "trust in the LORD with all of your heart, and lean not on your own understanding." Proverbs 3:5
(I have to give props to my friend Ashleigh who tried to tell this to me one time. I listened but I guess I didn't hear.)
