I had a date...

Today was a fun day. I went on a day with my 2 1/2 year old son. We started out the date by going to weigh in (um, we won't talk about the results of that), then we hit a few garage sales and a consignment sale. I should mention that my son likes to go shopping. He loves asking what everything is. The best part of our date was going dancing at Target.

Yes, you read that right! We went dancing at Target. You know those little sample CD players that have several CD choices so you can hear the songs before you buy them? Well that provided lots of entertainment for Ian and me. We seriously were dancing by the CD display! We got a few looks, some were "okay weirdo" look, others were "oh how cute" looks. But really Ian and I didn't care. We just had fun! I know that someday that won't be the case. Someday he will turn and walk away when I try to dance in the CD section of Target. So I enjoyed every minute of it!

We finished our date by eating lunch at Chick-fil-a. It was a great time that I was able to spend with just Ian. I am looking forward to my next date time with him! I asked if he would like to go on a date with me again, and he said yes. Of course I have two other boys to date too, so it might be a while before we go out again. ;)

I met the Pioneer Woman!

If you are a blogger or blog stalker of any kind you know who the Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond is. Her blog is so fun and entertaining to read. She really knows how to keep your attention with her writing.

Well, lucky me, she was in our home town doing a book signing for her new kids book "Charlie the Ranch Dog" and I got to go! I took my boys and arrived early to get my ticket to stand in line. I was number 50! Not too bad seeing how there were a lot...A LOT of people in line. My friend Lacye came with her baby boy and we hung out in line for about an hour before we made it to see her.

She was just as nice as could be. She took pictures with everyone that asked and was just so nice! She said Owen just melted her heart :) Can you blame her? He is pretty darn cute. Ian, at that point, wasn't really interested in doing anything other than play with the toys that the book store had.

Last night before bed, we read the book and Ian seemed to really like it. He wanted to read it again, but alas, we had to put him to bed. I told him we can read it tonight before bed though. It made me glad that we got the book. I would have felt bad if he didn't even like the book ;)

Here are some pictures from our fun time of meeting PW! Go to her blog and check out all the fun stuff she has going on.

Formula cans out the wazoo!

Do you use formula? Do you constantly through away the cans thinking "surely there is something I can do with these"? No? Well surely I am not the only one who thinks things like this so I am going to share with you a list of things you can do with your old formula cans.

1. Crayon holder. I used a little Mod Podge and scrapbook paper and made this old formula can into our crayon holder, because you know they won't stay in the box for too long ;)

2. Grease holder. Yeah, you read right. I never know what to do with the bacon grease when I make bacon. Well I figured out the other day that old formula cans make for a great way to dispose of it! (I won't make you look at a picture of bacon grease) :)

3. Treat can. We had some friends of ours watch the boys for us while we went to a funeral. They very generously did it for free. So as a thank you I made them cookies and put them in an old formula can that I had decorated with scrapbook paper and mod podge! I don't think I took a picture of this, but it was cute! (at least I thought so)

I should mention that if you are using this for anything other than the bacon grease option you should clean it out. :)

So tell me, what would you do with an old formula can? Seeing how I have at least three more months of formula usage in my house I would love to hear your ideas!

Have you ever wondered...

Have you ever wondered if you missed your calling? I mean, when I have a really difficult day like today, it makes me wonder...Am I really called to be a stay at home mom or should I put my kids in daycare and go work? I know that those of you who have to work are probably saying to yourself "she is crazy!", but really don't you ever wish you could just have a break from doing what you do? I guess that is really all I want right now. I don't want to go to work outside the home, I just want a few days off to re-coop. You know what I mean? Anyways, just thinking to myself (or I guess really to the whole world that has access to this blog). I just needed to vent a little bit. It helps remind myself that I really do love being home with my boys! Thanks for listening today.
