Baby shower

So yesterday was our first baby shower! It was a lot of fun! We are so blessed to have such a wonderful group of people in our Sunday school who threw this for us! Here are two pictures from the thousands that my nieces took. :)

This first picture was painted by Layce who is clearly a talented artist!

This picture is of me and the hosts from the shower. Notice the awesome cake, it was not purchased but made by Ashley (she is in the black top)!

We got so many amazing gifts from everyone who attended. Again we are so blessed to have such great friends. I also came home to a cleared out baby's room! I felt so full of love after that. Justin is so wonderful, he is really such a great care taker! He is going to be a great dad.

Doctor's, Books and Ian comes!

Well the search for a pediatrician begins! We set up an appointment to meet with a doctor that isn't too far from were we live. Hopefully we will like her and not have to search around. I guess I should make a list of questions to ask her. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

I have started reading more since being on bed rest. This week I have already read two books that my sister-in-law sent to me! I have one more in the series to read and I am kind of bummed that there is only one more in this series. But she sent lots of books so hopefully I should be busy for a while. This is the first day I have watched tv during the day! I have decided that I can't start a new book on Saturday's because I want to try and finish them which causes me to stay up late and be sleepy on Sunday for church and if I don't finish it I tend to dream in a novel format. I know it sounds stupid, but seriously my dreams are weird enough as it is, to add it in a novel format makes them unsettling!

I can't believe that there is only 7 1/2 weeks before Ian comes! Oh, and if he comes during week 37 then that makes it only 6 1/2 weeks left! WOW that is so crazy sounding!!!!

Who am I?

So during this whole bed rest time I have been constantly praying for God to take me off of bed rest. Every two weeks I am asking my doctor if I can have some more "privileges" that allow me to go outside the home. I have felt constantly that this load I am bearing is more than I can handle. There have been lots of tears and sadness over the past month and a half. I kind of picture those women you would see in National Geographic who are carrying a basket of stuff on each shoulder, one on their head and a baby on the back and front! Only I am the one who is falling over, rather than standing strong. Well this morning in FLOCK (AKA Sunday School) there was a quote read that said this: "Instead of asking God for a lighter load ask Him for a stronger back". This concept never even occurred to me. I mean sure, I have prayed that God would give me strength to make it through this time, but did I really mean it, Heck no! I meant the prayer that said get me off of bed rest ASAP! So each day this week as I wake up in the morning (or really more recently the afternoons) I am going to pray that God will give me a stronger back. I want to be the National Geographic women this week (I bet that is something you thought you would never hear a person say). It may be a day to day prayer, but who am I to think that God would give me more than I can handle?

feeling better...

So the test is done!!! I just hope I pass now! The actual test when well, except the front office staff didn't feel the need to have me start it before I waited 45 minutes for my appointment (which was at 9:45), at which point my doctor was surprised that I hadn't started it yet. (You have to drink this stuff that is like Hawiann Punch with 30 times the sugar added.) The drink wasn't so bad until I got to the end and I had to force it down. Then I had to wait another hour in the waiting room, which could have been avoided it they would have had me start it when I first arrived. Anyways, I am not bitter, I'm just saying. Ok, so I took a book with me, which seemed to help the time go by and keep my focus off the fact that I hadn't eaten since 6:30 this morning. Then after an hour of waiting they drew blood. They are also having me do another 24 hour urine test, fun. (hopefully you can sense the sarcasim in my typing) So I guess that is all. I hurried home to eat and feel ok. I am tired though. Looking forward to possibly being an aunt again! We will just have to wait and see what my sisters doctor says. ;)

AGH!!!!!!! SO NERVOUS

So it is about an hour and 45 minutes before my doctors appointment. I already feel like I am going to throw up. I can only imagine what my blood pressure is going to be at the doctors office! I am so nervous about this stupid glucose test. I think the fact that I can't eat much more than toast with peanut butter on it. Don't get me wrong, I love peanut butter, but when I am told to only eat that, it makes it hard to do that.

So to get my mind off of this test I am watching Saved by the Bell: Vegas Wedding!

classes...

So we had our first child birth class as well as a child care class. They both went well. We go back for 3 more classes of the child birth class. I can't believe we are so close to the birth of our baby. Only 11 1/2 weeks left!

I have my blood glucose test tomorrow. I am kind of nervous. I feel like I do ok, but am still worried about not eating for awhile at the doctors office. I asked if I could come and get the liquid stuff and drink it at home, but they said no because they don't want me to have a reaction to it away from the doctor.

Well that is about all. I don't have much else to say. I will let you know if more things come up.

busy week...

So I am so excited for this week! Everyday but Thursday we have something to look forward to. Today our friend Layce is bringing us dinner (roast and mashed potatoes), she is a great cook and I can't wait to eat it! Then Tuesday night we have our first child birth class, which I got approval to go to from my doctor. Wednesday night we have our child care class, again got permission from the doc to go to. Friday I have my doctors appointment! This week may just go by fast!!! Which means next week...Ultra sound!!!
